We have just begun to use Skype in out professional learning communities. My WL teachers were begging for more meeting time, but due to lack of funds for subs and calendar time that was convenient to all we were having problems getting together. we have just started to use Skype (the call feature w/o the video) as a way that we can all "get together" and discuss topics of interest without having to meet. It has been working well since we use it hand and hand with Google Docs to collaborate on common exams, curriculum and rubrics.
