What is the current focus of your work?
Trying to get all language teachers on equal footing. Giving all students, no matter which language the same opportunity to become proficient. Also, pushing for more language in the K-8 classrooms where we currently only offer Spanish.
What are your three areas of expertise (for sharing with other members)?
3 areas? Good classroom organizational skills, cooperative and supportive classrooms, student travel.
What is your greatest area of concern for your district?
We do not have supervisors who evaluate our teachers. I feel that we do not encourage best practice nor keep up with the best pedagogy of languages.
